A2A. Seems you’ve got the correct answers already.. There is no “this way only”. The jacks are identical - apart from one being angled.
If the guitar has a typical Fender Stratocaster angled front facing output jack, you will likely do best with picking the straight jack.
On other guitars where you have a side mounted jack, like for instance on most Gibson guitars Les Paul and on Fender Telecaster style guitars, you may want to use the angled jack - more so if you correctly tuck the lead behind the strap (between the guitar body and the strap).
The same goes for top loaded output jacks that are mounted straight, like for example a Gibson ES-335 style guitar. An angled jack is perfect for that.
Please be aware that some side mounted output jacks are recessed a bit and an angled jack won’t fit properly.
All in all, you can simply experiment and see what suites best for your guitars and your needs - that’s the whole point with these cables/leads.
